Air Canada flights briefly grounded globally over ‘technical issue’ – National | 24CA News

A floor cease on all Air Canada and Rouge flights worldwide has been lifted about an hour after it was first issued by the Federal Aviation Administration.

According to an announcement from Air Canada, the airline skilled a short lived “technical issue” with its communicator system, which it says is used to speak with plane and monitor operational efficiency.

The stoppage was issued at roughly 11:20 a.m. jap time, with the FAA citing a request by the airline. It was referred to as off at 12:15 p.m. ET.

The airline stated there had been “limited delays” because of the problem however the system is “now returning to normal” with the “precautionary” floor cease being lifted.

At this time, the extent of these delays will not be but clear.

According to information from Cirium, an airline analytics firm, there have been a complete of 1,047 Air Canada flights booked for Thursday. Some 15 Air Canada flights had been cancelled as of 1 p.m. ET Thursday, in line with Cirium, however it’s unclear whether or not any of these cancellations had been tied on to the bottom cease.
