Ukraine war: 2 Montreal companies sanctioned by U.S. for alleged ties to Russia
Canada Border Services Agency says it helped put two Montreal-based firms with alleged ties to the Russian navy on a United States sanctions record.
The U.S. Department of Commerce final month added CPUNTO inc. and Electronic Network inc. to an inventory of entities topic to export controls.
Both firms are headquartered within the Montreal borough of St-Laurent and describe themselves on-line as sellers of digital elements.
The export controls bar them from exporting virtually any merchandise manufactured within the U.S., together with mental property.
Canada’s border providers says they’re working carefully with the U.S. authorities to limit Russia’s entry to merchandise and know-how wanted for its battle in Ukraine.
Neither CPUNTO inc. nor Electronic Network inc. have responded to a request for remark.
