Statistics Canada to release its latest labour force survey today
OTTAWA –
Statistics Canada will launch its newest snapshot of how the job market is doing within the nation.
The company will launch its labour pressure survey for May this morning.
The labour market has remained resilient this 12 months, regardless of larger rates of interest.
The unemployment price held regular at 5.0 per cent in April when the economic system stunned economists and added 41,000 jobs for the month.
The job report this morning comes after the Bank of Canada’s choice this week to boost its key rate of interest goal by 1 / 4 of a share level to 4.75 per cent.
In elevating its key price, the central financial institution mentioned the labour market stays tight, reflecting continued sturdy demand for employees.
This report by The Canadian Press was first printed June 9, 2023.
