Nordstrom Canada liquidation sales expected to begin today as store prepares for exit
TORONTO –
Nordstrom is predicted to start liquidating its shops throughout Canada immediately.
The begin of the division retailer chain’s closing sale comes a day after the U.S. retailer’s Canadian department received permission from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to start out promoting off merchandise.
Nordstrom’s liquidation efforts are being led by Hilco Merchant Retail Solutions ULC and Gordon Brothers Canada and are anticipated to be full by late June.
Furniture, fixtures and tools might be liquidated alongside most of Nordstrom’s merchandise, however items from third events aren’t a part of the sale as a result of they have been faraway from shops over the weekend.
Nordstrom required courtroom approval to liquidate as a result of it’s winding down its Canadian operations beneath the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, which helps bancrupt companies restructure or finish operations in an orderly style.
As a part of the wind down, Nordstrom will shut its six Canadian division retailer places and 7 Nordstrom Rack retailers, which promote designer items at low cost costs.
