Minimum wage on Prince Edward Island set to increase to .50 Sunday

The first of two will increase that may increase Prince Edward Island’s minimal wage to $15 by the top of the 12 months comes into impact on Sunday.


A news launch from the province’s Department of Economic Growth says minimal wage is ready to extend by 80 cents to $14.50 on Jan. 1, and can rise an additional 50 cents on Oct. 1.


The minimal wage enhance for P.E.I. was first introduced within the fall.


The three different Atlantic provinces all raised minimal wage charges in some unspecified time in the future in 2022.


Minimum wages in New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador stand at $13.75 and $13.70, respectively.


The 25-cent enhance Nova Scotia instituted in October pushed the speed to $13.60. The province says it plans to have a minimal wage of $15 an hour in place by October 2024, whereas each P.E.I. and Newfoundland plan to achieve that benchmark this fall.
