Loblaw hiring European retail executive Per Bank as company’s next CEO

BRAMPTON, Ont. –

Loblaw Companies Ltd. is hiring veteran European retail government Per Bank as its subsequent president and chief government.

The mum or dad firm of the Loblaws grocery chain and Shoppers Drug Mart says Bank, the chief government of Denmark’s Salling Group A/S, will be a part of the corporate by early 2024.

Salling Group operates department shops, supermarkets and low cost shops.

The hiring of Bank comes as Loblaw chief working officer Robert Sawyer plans to retire on the finish of the 12 months.

Galen Weston has been serving as president of Loblaw since 2021 when Sarah Davis retired from the job.

He will stay chair of the Loblaw board, in addition to chair and chief government of George Weston Ltd., the retailer’s mum or dad firm.
