The first of two supermoons in August is gracing skies all over the world.
A supermoon occurs when the moon’s orbit is closest to Earth on the similar time that it is full. That makes it seem barely larger and brighter within the sky.
Also referred to as a Sturgeon moon, it’s the first of two supermoons this month, with one other anticipated on Aug. 30. See the placing scenes of the moon because it travels throughout the sky this week.
