Gasoline prices up from a year ago as drivers head into holiday weekend

Canadians planning to hit the highway for the final lengthy weekend of summer season can count on to pay extra for gasoline than they did final Labour Day.


The nationwide common gasoline worth as of Friday was $1.67 cents per litre, in accordance with gasoline worth monitoring web site GasBuddy.com.


That compares to $1.37 cents per litre on Sept. 1, 2022.


Gasoline costs started to rise in July and August of this 12 months, partially resulting from crude oil manufacturing cuts by Saudi Arabia and Russia.


The benchmark crude worth West Texas Intermediate hit a 12-month excessive Friday, hovering across the US$85 per barrel mark.


That compares to at least one 12 months in the past, when WTI was about US$75 per barrel.
