Top clubs urge Brazil’s football federation to suspend league matches because of flooding

Three top-tier golf equipment on Monday urged Brazil’s soccer federation to droop their nationwide league matches for the following 20 days due to critical flooding.

Internacional, Gremio and Juventude are primarily based within the state of Rio Grande do Sul, which has been devastated by floods since final week.

Authorities say a minimum of 83 individuals have been killed during the last seven days within the area, and one other 111 are reported lacking.

The stadiums of Internacional and Gremio within the state capital Porto Alegre have been inundated and severely broken by the water.

“The absolute priority at this moment is to support thousands of people who have been hit,” Internacional mentioned in an announcement. “We ask for understanding, solidarity, empathy and support at such a delicate and extraordinary moment.”

All three golf equipment had their weekend matches within the fifth spherical of the Brazilian league suspended. Internacional is in ninth place with seven factors, three behind chief Athletico Paranaense.

Gremio is in eleventh place with six factors, and Juventude has 5 competitors factors.

Brazil’s soccer confederation mentioned it could take into account the request.
