Sporting Kansas City cruises to shutout victory over Whitecaps
Rémi Walter and Alan Pulido scored first-half targets and Sporting Kansas City breezed to a 3-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday evening.
Walter discovered the web for the primary time this season when he took a go from Gadi Kinda within the thirty third minute and scored the one aim Kendall McIntosh and Sporting KC (6-10-6) would wish.
Pulido used assists from Walter and Tim Leibold within the second minute of stoppage time to place Sporting KC up 2-0 at halftime. Pulido has scored seven of his eight targets this Major League Soccer season in his final six appearances.
Erik Thommy scored unassisted within the 53rd minute to finish the scoring. It was Thommy’s third aim of the marketing campaign.
McIntosh stopped one shot to earn the clear sheet for Sporting KC. Yohei Takaoka had one save for Vancouver.
Vancouver (6-6-7) was coming off a 2-0 highway win over defending champion Los Angeles FC that snapped a 15-match winless run away from house. The Whitecaps haven’t received two in a row on the highway since August of 2018.
The Whitecaps had gone 2-0-1 of their final three matches with Sporting KC.
Ryan Gauld had his four-match aim scoring streak for the Whitecaps finish one match shy of Camilo Sanvezzo’s membership report set in 2013.
