Morocco captain Romain Saiss does not start in FIFA World Cup third-place play off against Croatia

Morocco captain Romain Saiss didn’t make it to the beginning eleven towards Croatia within the FIFA World Cup 2022 third-place playoff on the Khalifa International Stadium in Qatar, on Saturday.

The centre-back was stretched off within the second-half towards Portugal within the quarterfinals with a hamstring harm and was uncertain for the semis. However, he seemed to have made a miraculous restoration to star towards France.

Eventually, he needed to give in to a struggling hamstring and was substituted off within the twentieth minute.

“We won’t be taking risks… especially Saiss. He’s been ruled out. But I’m confident and trust in our group,” Morocco head coach Walid Regragui had stated on the eve of the sport.

Saiss, a centre-back, led the staff to a historic run as much as the semifinals, with the Atlas Lions not conceding a single aim from an opponent as much as the battle of the ultimate 4.
