Argentina soccer membership Boca Juniors have determined to drop Colombian winger Sebastian Villa from the group following his conviction for violence towards his former companion Daniela Cortes.

The 27-year-old Villa, a Colombia worldwide, acquired a jail sentence of two years and one month on Friday following the conviction, which was suspended resulting from it being lower than three years.

“As of now (Villa) will not take part in matches involving the first men’s soccer team,” the membership stated in an announcement late on Friday.

The measure was unanimously agreed by the membership’s board of administrators and it is going to be imposed whereas the case is appealed in increased courts, the membership added.
