Asian Games 2023: Baskar, Matic oversee Indian Basketball teams as they gear up for Hangzhou

Three Indian basketball groups, one 5×5 (girls) and two 3×3 (males & girls), have been coaching on the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai for over a month in preparation for the Hangzhou Asian Games. The groups will go away for China on September 23.

S. Baskar coaches the ladies’s (5×5) staff, whereas Veselin Matic and Baskar oversee the lads’s and girls’s (3×3) groups. 

Baskar stated the staff’s coaching has been happening easily. He added that within the camp they’ve been making an attempt out some new methods. He insisted the staff is a mix of youth and expertise. Playing effectively, the 57-year-old, stated, within the Pool, would be the key to deciding the long run plan of action.

“It’s been a long camp. We first started in July in Chhattisgarh for 20 days and then in Chennai. We have a good combination of juniors and seniors. “We have Indonesia, Mongolia and defending champion China in our group (A). We hope to beat Indonesia and Mongolia. The big team is, of course, China. After that, we will play for classification matches,” he stated.

Vaselin Matic, India males’s staff coach for 3×3 on the Games, stated publicity has been missing for the Indian gamers, however hoped they may give all of it. He cited the instance of Mongolia which has performed in virtually all doable tournaments within the run-up to the Games.

One of the important thing gamers within the Indian males’s 3×3 staff, Pranav Prince stated a top-three end is certainly doable within the Games. “We are grouped (C) with China, Macau and Malaysia. If we play according to our potential we can be in the top three,” he stated.
