Trout goes on IL with wrist fracture

Mike Trout, who left Monday’s sport within the eighth inning after fouling a ball again whereas going through Padres right-hander Nick Martinez, was positioned on the 10-day injured checklist with a left hamate fracture on Tuesday.

As corresponding strikes, outfielder Jo Adell and right-hander Gerardo Reyes had been recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake. Right-hander Victor Mederos was optioned to Double-A Rocket City.

“I can’t really describe the pain I felt,” Trout stated on Monday. “I’ve never felt that pain ever. I’ve never had wrist problems or anything. Just a freak thing.”

Trout, who was chosen as an All-Star for the eleventh time and as a starter for the tenth straight 12 months on Thursday, has been heating up on the plate. The damage means Trout, who was voted as a starter, is ready to overlook out on his third straight All-Star Game.

The 31-year-old has a slash line of .333/.438/.648 over his previous 15 video games, with 4 homers, three doubles and 7 RBIs.
