KANSAS CITY — The remaining piece of the Royals’ 2023 teaching workers slid into place Thursday when the membership promoted Mitch Stetter to be their new bullpen coach, sources informed MLB.com.
The membership has not confirmed the news.
Stetter, 41, spent the previous three seasons because the Royals’ supervisor of pitching efficiency and he has been a pitching coach within the group since 2014 — first as a participant/bullpen coach at Double-A Northwest Arkansas. When he formally retired from enjoying (he was a giant league reliever with the Brewers from 2007-11) he turned the pitching coach for the Surprise Royals (Rookie league) after which for Single-A Lexington.
Stetter had been tasked with bridging the hole between Kansas City’s Minor League pitchers and the analysis and improvement division in his position because the supervisor of pitching efficiency, and he has labored with almost all of the Royals’ homegrown pitchers who at the moment are on the Major League stage.
