Report: Mariners acquire OF Raley from Rays for INF Caballero

After putting a deal for Mitch Haniger and Anthony Desclafani earlier Friday, the Seattle Mariners acquired outfielder Luke Raley in a separate commerce with the Tampa Bay Rays for infielder Jose Caballero, in line with ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Raley, 29, hung out throughout all three outfield spots and first base for Tampa Bay in 2023 whereas posting a .249/.333/.490 slash line with 19 dwelling runs and 14 stolen bases.

The left-handed hitter will now be part of a new-look Mariners outfield that features Haniger and Julio Rodriguez.

Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016, Raley debuted with the NL membership in 2021 earlier than being dealt to the Rays earlier than the 2022 season.
