CINCINNATI — The closing cease of Scott Rolen’s Hall of Fame profession was in Cincinnati, and it proved to be pivotal for the franchise. “We just got to go out and eat a little bit together, talk together a little bit and be real honest with each other,” Rolen recalled. “I tried to be real honest with him and tell him as things went, ‘Your job is to go play, and if you can’t play, then you don’t play, but you’re not any good. If you’re not out there, you’re not out there.’ We had those types of conversations.”

When Rolen was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame final week, it was a time to have fun his profession and legacy within the recreation.
