Freeman (hamstring) day-to-day in World Baseball Classic
Freddie Freeman exited Canada’s sport towards Colombia within the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday afternoon with a slight hamstring problem, and isn’t anticipated to play towards Mexico on Tuesday afternoon (3 p.m. ET, FS2).
During his at-bat within the prime of the third inning, Freeman took a swing at a low fastball from Colombia starter Adrian Almeida and ran gingerly to first base as Gio Urshela simply caught the pop fly at third base.
He stayed within the sport at first base for the underside of that body, however exited within the backside of the fourth. Freeman was changed within the lineup by Denzel Clarke, who took over in heart discipline as Jared Young slid to first base to deal with that function.
Team Canada has not specified which hamstring was injured, and supervisor Ernie Whitt stated postgame that Freeman’s exit was precautionary.
“I don’t foresee Freddie being in it for tomorrow,” Whitt stated. “We’re waiting from the doctors to see what they say and also the Dodgers. Again, that’s the most important thing is his health.”
