Braves closer Iglesias headed to IL with inflamed shoulder

NORTH PORT, Fla. (AP) — Atlanta Braves nearer Raisel Iglesias will open the season on the injured listing as a result of proper shoulder irritation, the workforce mentioned Thursday.

The Braves say an MRI confirmed the right-hander has “low-grade” irritation and won’t throw for seven days.

Iglesias was anticipated to maneuver into the nearer’s function after Kenley Jansen signed with the Boston Red Sox. Iglesias, 33, had a mixed 17 saves final season for the Los Angeles Angels and Atlanta.

With the Braves, Iglesias allowed just one earned run in 28 appearances for a 0.34 ERA with one save whereas serving primarily in a set-up function for Jansen.
