Blue Jays' Vogelbach in for Turner as designated hitter vs. Royals

Daniel Vogelbach is about to interchange Justin Turner as designated hitter for the Toronto Blue Jays as they tackle the Kansas City Royals for Game 3 of the sequence on Wednesday.

Turner, 29, has been one of the constant hitters for the Blue Jays this season, with 28 hits, 4 house runs and 15 RBI in 94 at-bats for a .298 common. He signed a one-year, $13-million contract in Toronto as a free agent.

Vogelbach, like Turner, was acquired by the Blue Jays by way of free company, when he signed a minor-league contract. In 18 at-bats this season, Vogelbach has two hits and one RBI for a median of .111.

Watch the Blue Jays go for the sequence victory over the Royals on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ beginning at 3 p.m. ET / midday PT.
