Blue Jays place reliever Erik Swanson on 15-day IL, recall Jay Jackson
Toronto Blue Jays aid pitcher Erik Swanson has been positioned on the 15-day injured record with thoracic backbone irritation after having to depart Saturday’s sport early.
The right-hander bent over in obvious discomfort after delivering a pitch to the third batter he confronted, Kole Calhoun, with one out within the seventh inning and departed shortly after.

Swanson, 29, is 3-2 with a 3.10 ERA and a 1.086 WHIP in 58 innings pitched this season.
The membership recalled right-hander Jay Jackson from triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding transfer Sunday.
Jackson is 3-0 with a 1.64 ERA. The 35-year-old has a 0.818 WHIP in 22 innings this 12 months.
