2019 World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg is planning to retire from baseball, a supply informed MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand on Thursday. The news was first reported by The Washington Post. The Nationals have a press convention tentatively scheduled for Sept. 9, in accordance with The Post. The Nationals haven’t confirmed the report.

Strasburg has not pitched since June 9, 2022, when he made his solely look of the season for Washington. He underwent surgical procedure for thoracic outlet syndrome in 2021 and has not been in a position to make a full return from that process.
