A specialised police workforce has arrested a 19-year-old Ottawa man, alleging he threatened Parliament Hill, a federal division and two embassies in November.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police stated in a Tuesday news launch an Integrated National Security Enforcement Team realized of Twitter threats Nov. 8 towards the Hill, the Department of Defence and the American and Chinese embassies.
The man has been charged with 4 counts every of conveying a terrorist hoax, threatening demise or bodily hurt to an individual and threatening to burn, destroy and injury property.
He has been launched on unspecified situations and is scheduled to seem again in courtroom on Jan. 18.
The workforce that led the investigation and arrest is made up of RCMP, provincial and native police and federal businesses, with the aim of gathering and analyzing details about extremist and nationwide safety threats.
