New faces, 2 ministers bounced as part of N.B. cabinet shuffle by Blaine Higgs  | 24CA News

New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs has bounced two ministers from cupboard and added some new faces as he confronts turmoil inside his caucus.

The new cupboard sworn in on Tuesday follows the current resignations of two ministers who objected to the premier’s management fashion and to adjustments made to the province’s coverage on sexual orientation in colleges.

Daniel Allain, who was minister of native authorities, and Jeff Carr, who was transport minister, had been dropped.

Allain and Carr each signed a letter earlier this month expressing their “extreme disappointment in a lack of process and transparency” after the premier made controversial adjustments to the province’s coverage on sexual orientation in colleges.

The letter was additionally signed by Dorothy Shephard, who served as social improvement minister, and Trevor Holder, who had been labour minister, and so they later give up cupboard.

Higgs has changed Allain within the native authorities portfolio with Glen Savoie, whereas Carr was changed by Richard Ames as minister of Transport.

Five new ministers had been named to the 18-person cupboard, and eight positions had been modified within the shuffle.
