B.C. port strike enters Day 7 with no end in sight | 24CA News
It has been almost per week since B.C. port employees walked off the job and because the rhetoric ramps up, so does the strain on the federal authorities to step in and finish the job motion.
Hundreds of members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union rallied Thursday in a present of solidarity.
Their union is accusing the B.C. Maritime Employers Association of launching a smear marketing campaign and is asking for the employer to return to mediated talks.

As the strike drags on, a rising variety of business teams are calling for Parliament to be recalled and go back-to-work laws.
“We’re calling on the federal government to intervene immediately to bring an end to this dispute,” Bridgette Anderson with the Vancouver Board of Trade informed Global News.
“Like many business associations, we are really concerned about the impact not only on our economy right across Canada, but also the impact on our international reputation as a stable trading partner.”
It is estimated that greater than $3.5 billion of products are actually caught because of the port shutdown.
