Halifax doctors worry announced ER improvements won’t work due to lack of beds  | 24CA News

A bunch of emergency room docs in Halifax say they fear authorities modifications introduced for the province’s confused emergency departments received’t tackle the issue.

The open letter to Premier Tim Houston signed by 39 docs says the true downside is the “overuse” of emergency departments which lack mattress area.

The letter launched in the present day says sufferers look ahead to hours on the Halifax Infirmary emergency division as a result of there may be nowhere to place the following affected person that wants care.

The group says hospitals are so crammed with admitted sufferers that there aren’t any beds out there for many who come via the emergency division, leading to overcrowded ERs and delays in admitting sufferers who arrive by ambulance.
