‘The White Lotus’: Quebec City launching charm offensive to host popular HBO series  | 24CA News

Quebec City needs to host the following season of the favored HBO collection The White Lotus and the area’s tourism arm is aiming to make it occur.

Destination Quebec City and its promoting company LG2 have created a presentation selling the provincial capital and its largest belongings as an excellent filming spot, notably the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.

Robert Mercure, head of the group, performs up within the pitch addressed to collection creator Mike White that Quebec City is a UNESCO world heritage web site, boasting that it’s dwelling to “the most photographed hotel in the world.”

The White Lotus is a social satire that follows company and staff at a resort the place they unleash their worst, most privileged impulses.

The first season of the critically acclaimed present was set in Hawaii, and the second season passed off in Sicily.

Season 2 wrapped earlier this month and a few tour operators in Italy are already promising to take guests to filming areas in Taormina and Palermo.

One instance is the South Korean collection Goblin, which was partly shot in Quebec City in 2016 and nonetheless attracts followers who need to go to filming areas — together with a collection on the Fairmont that begins at $1,479 per evening.

“We’re inviting you to our city because we believe Quebec City is a destination extraordinaire,” Mercure says within the presentation, inviting White to go to, including that historic Quebec would give the present “a certain je ne sais quoi.”
