Woman finds hen wandering the streets of Toronto, hopes to find its owner – Toronto | 24CA News

When Vera Belazelkoska took her canine out for a stroll two weeks in the past alongside a Toronto laneway by Wallace Emerson Park, the very last thing she anticipated to come back upon was a fowl sight.

“There was a lot of commotion and there were many dog owners with dogs that were kind of looking at something,” Belazelkoska recounted. “And the dogs were lunging at it, and it was a chicken.”

Wanting to know why this rooster was crossing the highway on their own, and anxious for its security after a detailed name with a automotive, Belazelkoska introduced it house together with her and took to Facebook to see if she may discover its proprietor.

“I just said (on the post), ‘is this your chicken?’ said Belazelkoska.

Many flocked to the post.

“It started to pick up a lot of comments, some people resharing it — a lot of neighbours gave me some tips and so I knocked on some doors,” mentioned Belazelkoska.

She even made posters and plastered them round her neighbourhood. But…

“So far nobody has come forward that its their chicken,” mentioned Belazelkoska.

She says she referred to as Toronto Animal Services who supplied to take the chicken off her arms.

“I thought I could provide it a nice, safe intermediate space until we could find it a longer term home.”

So for now, she nicknamed it Claudia and it guidelines her roost.

“However, through some of the engagement with the community on social media, some people say it might be a Claudio because it could be a really young rooster,” Belazelkoska mentioned.

Global News despatched photos of the chicken to Toronto Animal Services and so they confirmed that Claudia is certainly a hen.

And this isn’t even Belazelkoska’s first rescue. With a rescue rooster, canine and two guinea pigs all beneath one roof, its a surprise she doesn’t go squawking mad.

“Now I just have one more animal to feed!” Belazelkoska laughs.

But she says, surprisingly, all of the animals have an im- peck-in a position friendship.

“In the morning, she just joins the gang of animals,” laughed Belazelkoska, referring to Claudia.

Belazelkoska says she plans to maintain Claudia for another night time. She has a gathering scheduled with an animal sanctuary, if no proprietor comes ahead.

“But I’m still holding out hope… that (Claudia) has a family that’s missing it and I’m hoping we’ll find them,” mentioned Belazelkoska.
