Winnipeg Union Station is getting a facelift by way of a multi-million-dollar funding from Canada’s nationwide rail passenger service.
VIA Rail introduced an funding of over $25 million Thursday to help the renovation of the town’s central practice station. Its acknowledged purpose is to offer enhancements that mirror present-day security requirements.
In a press launch on Thursday, the rail service stated the funding could be distributed as a part of a broader plan to renovate a community of heritage stations. Winnipeg is among the many 4 cities whose stations could be receiving upgrades, together with Vancouver, Halifax and Quebec City.
