Winnipeg dad Joseph Fourre is sharing a heartbreaking warning to folks after his son Harlan overdosed on laced medication in The Pas, Man. on Saturday.

Joseph informed Global News Harlan, 31, was out together with his mates in The Pas when he and his mates have been discovered unresponsive within the lavatory of an institution.

Police say, they’d ingested medication, presumably ecstasy, believed to be laced with an opioid.

Harlan’s mates have been revived by officers and EMS who administered Narcan and brought to the hospital the place they have been handled and launched.

Unfortunately, Joseph stated Harlan was not as fortunate as a result of the Narcan wasn’t efficient..

“So the paramedics worked on him for about 45 minutes to regain a heartbeat and got him stabilized at the hospital where he was intubated and then transported to Brandon, where he’s still in critical condition.”

Joseph stated the physician knowledgeable him on Sunday that half an hour for the mind to not obtain oxygen is a very long time and his life at the moment hangs within the stability.

“And we still don’t know how long he was laying on the floor for. So, yeah, that’s not good.”

The prognosis at the moment doesn’t look good however he’s ready on the end result of an MRI Monday.

Joseph stated it’s onerous to fathom that this might occur to his son as Harlan shouldn’t be a continual drug person.

He certainly didn’t deserve this and as a community, we need to get a little harder on the drug dealers out there that are are are killing our kids because of greed. They want more money.”

Joseph stated he desires more durable sentencing for those who are dealing and he want to see the province go in a route of necessary therapy plans for people who find themselves affected by dependancy and never in a position to make selections for themselves.

He stated he isn’t in assist of protected consumption websites on account of his personal private expertise in a single.

“A safe consumption site wouldn’t have helped my son because my son doesn’t fit the demographics that would require the use of a safe consumption site. I’m in recovery and back in another city, it was at a safe consumption site where I was introduced to heroin because it was readily available, made around the site.”

Joseph stated he isn’t taking his son off the hook fully as he acknowledges that he made a option to do one thing that night time however he didn’t select to get a deadly drug.
