The marketing campaign is held each spring when the snow and ice soften, and residents can lastly see what dangerous situation their streets would possibly really be in.

“It’s all about safety,” Christine Niemczyk, CAA Saskatchewan communications director mentioned. “We want to hear from all road users.”

Story continues under commercial

Niemczyk mentioned Saskatchewan is a landlocked province and depends closely on street journey for commuting and transportation, which vastly impacts the wear and tear and tear on roads.

“Typically, it’s potholes, crumbling pavement, no shoulder, no room or infrastructure for pedestrians or cyclists to share the road,” Niemczyk mentioned. “Perhaps there’s no signage, there’s no traffic lights; it’s unsafe.”

CAA then gathers the consumer submitted information and publicly lists the highest 10 worst roads.

Niemczyk mentioned these campaigns have straight led to elevated security measures round among the roads that make the record.

“It just keeps the conversation going, with hopefully the result being that [roads] will be fixed and it will be a safe road for all road users.”
