WFPS respond to 3 fires over the weekend – Winnipeg | 24CA News

WFPS (Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service) was referred to as to a few fires over the weekend, two in vacant buildings with one requiring demolition resulting from extreme injury.

The first one was within the 400 block of Stella Avenue near 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Crews have been referred to as to the vacant two-and-a-half-story dwelling and confronted flames and smoke coming from the constructing. Firefighters attacked the fireplace from outdoors the constructing as situations weren’t secure sufficient for entry.

The fireplace was underneath management by 10:13 p.m. and no accidents have been reported.

However, the constructing is taken into account an entire loss and WFPS is planning to demolish it. Crews will stay on the scene to extinguish hotspots till demolition is full. The explanation for the fireplace is underneath investigation.

The second fireplace was on Grove Street near 2 a.m. on Sunday at a vacant two-storey home within the 100 block.

Crews arrived on scene and have been confronted with heavy flames and smoke coming from the constructing. The fireplace was attacked from the within by crews and was underneath management by 2:24 a.m. No accidents have been reported and the construction was looked for occupants.

The explanation for this hearth can be underneath investigation however no injury estimates can be found presently.

Additionally, a hearth occurred on Victor Street at 7:46 a.m. on Sunday however this hearth was not in a vacant dwelling.

Crews went to the fireplace within the 400 block of the road and noticed heavy black smoke coming from the house. The fireplace was declared underneath management by six minutes after 8 a.m. after crews thought it from the within.

Firefighters searched the house to make sure nobody was inside and no accidents have been reported.
