A paragliding lesson ended tragically within the North Okanagan on Thursday when a 63-year-old Vernon, B.C., man fell 25 ft to his dying.
The deadly incident occurred at Freedom Flight Park, a Lumby-based paragliding college.
The college’s proprietor says the sufferer was an skilled hang-gliding pilot who was a number of days into his paragliding coaching.
“A tragic day for us,” stated Dave Underwood, including the person fell shortly after being launched.
According to Underwood, the dying is now being investigated by the BC Coroners Service.
