Vernon, B.C. has a brand new Good Citizen of the Year.

Centenarian Helen Sidney was shocked with the honour this week at metropolis corridor.

Sidney stated when her daughter, who knew in regards to the award, stated they have been going to make a relaxation cease at metropolis corridor Sidney had no thought what was about to occur.

“It was the biggest surprise of my life,” she stated.

Sidney is well-known alongside Bella Vista Road in Vernon for her day by day efforts to wash up the realm by choosing up rubbish and cans.

When requested what motivates her to do the clean-up work every day, Sidney stated it grew out of her work as a first-grade trainer the place she used to show college students to not litter.
