New particulars have emerged relating to a September 2022 aircraft crash in Yarker, Ont., because the Transportation Safety Board of Canada has launched its report on the incident.
The aircraft crash, which occurred Sept. 24, concerned a privately registered Quad City Ultralight Aircraft Corporation Challenger II superior ultralight plane. It departed from a non-public grass runway close to Yarker for a daytime visible flight to the close by Westport/Rideau Lakes Aerodrome. The pilot was the one occupant aboard the aircraft.
While the plane was in flight, a door opened, and the pilot carried out a precautionary touchdown in a farmer’s discipline close to Bobs Lake, east of Parham, Ont., the report says.

It provides that after touchdown, the pilot known as the plane proprietor, who was ready on the Westport/Rideau Lakes Aerodrome, and requested that he come to the sector to assist with the restore of the door.
Once repairs to the aircraft had been made, the pilot resumed the flight again to the aerodrome. But as soon as it returned to the air, the aircraft engine was heard producing a sputtering sound after which stopping. The plane was seen quickly falling and rolling earlier than hitting the bottom in a wooded space. The pilot was killed.
