Drumheller RCMP is issuing a warning to the general public, reminding them that avenue medication aren’t all the time what they look like, in wake of latest suspected overdoses.
On Sept. 1, Drumheller RCMP responded to a few separate incidents of suspected fentanyl overdoses, inside just a few hours of one another. These three incidents occurred within the central Drumheller space however at completely different areas.
Police say of the three incidents, one resulted within the loss of life of a 46-year-old man, a resident of Drumheller. In the second incident, naloxone was given by EMS and within the third incident, naloxone was administered by the RCMP.
Both individuals have been taken to hospital and are in steady situation.
Drumheller RCMP reminds the general public that the indicators of a fentanyl overdose embody sluggish, irregular and shallow respiratory, pinpoint pupils, muscle stiffness, seizures and unconsciousness. Higher doses of the antidote naloxone are wanted to deal with an overdose.
