After an extended profession as an accountant, supervisor and CEO of a number of corporations, a 72-year-old man from Milestone, Sask. has discovered a brand new ardour — this time within the kitchen.

“I started 13 years ago and it all boiled down to I couldn’t find a decent loaf of bread,” stated Jim Hadfield, who now runs Jim’s Bread, Buns & Cakes, a baking store that has taken the province by storm.

“I started with nothing,” Hadfield defined as he recalled his journey. “I started completely ignorant of how to bake, and I taught myself how to bake. So for me it’s a continuing journey.”

He acquired his begin in baking by making cinnamon buns, and a neighborhood good friend instructed him he ought to begin promoting them.

“I really didn’t think people enjoyed Christmas cake, that is my belief… well, I was wrong.”

His Facebook web page has been successful, with over 8,000 followers. He stated he retains his followers interested in simply chatting about his life and his baking with witty memes and relatable tales.

But at 72, he stated the longer term is a thriller, however for now he’ll proceed to bake and make what he calls a multitude in his spouse’s kitchen.
