Queen’s AMS email addresses hit in cyber-attack – Kingston | 24CA News
The Queen’s University Alma Mater Society mentioned a few of its e-mails have been compromised in a current cyber assault associated to Twitter.
The AMS mentioned solely Twitter accounts created with its e-mails have been affected by the assault.
The society mentioned that from January to March 2023, scraped consumer information from Twitter was leaked on a darkish net hacking discussion board.

“The AMS IT Team wants to ensure clear messaging that this breach was unrelated to AMS account security in any way, shape or form,” the AMS mentioned in a news launch. “This was a breach on Twitter’s side that just so happened to affect Twitter accounts that were registered with AMS email addresses.”
“The AMS IT Team is confident and committed to monitoring potential security incidents and sharing them as quickly as possible for remediation within the organization,” the group added.
It added the information contained electronic mail addresses, full names, display names and extra private data that would have been saved inside the account.
