A portion of Toronto’s Queen Street West is closed and residents have been evacuated because of a damaged watermain, police say.

Toronto police mentioned officers acquired a report of a damaged watermain within the Queen Street West and Strachan Avenue space at round 5:45 p.m., on Thursday.

Police mentioned “large amounts of water” was on the highway, including that residents have been evacuated within the space.

Officers mentioned Queen Street West was closed from Strachan Avenue to Walnut Street.

Toronto Fire Services mentioned crews have been on scene and requested the general public to keep away from the realm.
