Pictou County man charged after two passengers killed in car crash – Halifax | 24CA News

A Nova Scotian man is dealing with a number of fees after a single-vehicle crash prompted the demise of two passengers early Saturday morning, police say.

According to a launch from RCMP, emergency companies arrived on the scene on Brookville Road in Pictou County, N.S., on June 10 at about 4:10 a.m., and found a brown Honda CRV had left the highway and rolled.

A 23-year-old Trenton lady and 23-year-old Stellarton man, who have been contained in the automotive on the time of the crash, have been pronounced useless on the scene. Police stated the motive force was unhurt and registered a “failed” outcome when present process a breathalyzer check.

“The driver was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation Causing Death and was transported to the Pictou Detachment,” police stated. “The driver was given an opportunity to provide samples of breath into an Approved Instrument, however, the driver refused.”

The driver, a 23-year-old man from the Pictou group of Hillside, was handed extra fees for refusing to offer a breath pattern. He was launched on circumstances and is scheduled to seem in Pictou Provincial Court on Sept. 5.

Brookville Road was closed for a number of hours whereas a collision reconstructionist assisted with the investigation, nevertheless it has since reopened.
