Ridge Meadows RCMP affirm a pedestrian was killed in Maple Ridge after being struck by a car Thursday night simply after 8 p.m.
Staff Sgt. Tyler Wickware confirms the collision occurred close to the intersection of Lougheed Highway and 216th Street.
“The driver and the vehicle remained on scene,” Wickware stated.
“Also, I can confirm the driver was not impaired.”
The space was taped off and a physique was seen coated with a tarp.
The physique was situated subsequent to the Home Restaurant simply east of 216th Street alongside Lougheed Highway.

Mounties say the realm will stay closed whereas the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) investigates the crash.
Given the character of their work, Wickware says the highway will stay closed for hours.
