Ottawa announces plans to spend .3 million on Nova Scotia tourism projects – Halifax | 24CA News

The federal authorities stated right now it plans to spend $6.3 million on 53 new tourism initiatives in Nova Scotia.

Ginette Petitpas Taylor, the minister answerable for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, says the purpose is to draw extra guests to the area by investing in what she calls world-class vacationer locations.

Among the recipients would be the Eskasoni First Nation in Cape Breton, which can get $500,000 to create new programming for Eskasoni Cultural Journeys, an award-winning immersive Indigenous expertise.

Another $500,000 might be given to Saltair Nordic Spa in Baxter’s Harbour, the place the house owners will construct Nordic swimming pools and a path.

And the Quarterdeck Resort in Summerville will obtain $100,000 for development of vacationer lodging.

The cash from the federal Tourism Relief Fund might be along with the $7.1 million handed out to 52 comparable initiatives over the previous two years in Nova Scotia.

“We have so much to be proud of in our beautiful region, and so much to share with visitors,” Petitpas Taylor stated in an announcement.
