Nelson police officer killed in avalanche, second officer critically injured | 24CA News

The Nelson Police Board has confirmed one among its officers has died and one other is critically injured after they have been caught in an avalanche close to Kaslo.

It provides, each officers have been on snowmobiles when the incident occured.

The City of Nelson made the announcement in a Facebook submit Monday night.

The identities of the officers haven’t been publicly shared.

Global News spoke with Nelson mayor Janice Morisson, who affords her condolences to the household.

The City says extra data shall be launched within the coming days.
