Last July, Audet and his business companion opened their very own craft brewery. The complete operation is powered by photo voltaic vitality.
“I wanted to open a craft brewery for a number of years, and wanted to do something different and combine my passion for beer and solar together, and that became of Arbru,” stated Audet.
Behind the ability are two giant photo voltaic panels, that are related to battery banks on the partitions inside. Everything from the lights, to the fridges and the sound gear are all powered by the flaming ball within the sky.
Audet has full management over the lights and different electronics from the contact of a button on his cellphone. He stated it took a very long time for the concept to come back to fruition, however he’s happy with being self-sufficient.
“It’s very empowering to know that we’re able to produce our own power. What I tell people is that we’re kind of on an island right now, in the sense that we don’t have a connection to the grid, we’re kind of isolated,” he added.
While Audet is the mind behind the photo voltaic, his business companion Stacie Stephenson has been engaged on alternative ways so as to add to the individuality of the business.
“We usually turn to the customer to ask them what are they looking for, what kind of fun event or customer experience do they want to have,” she stated.
Open mic nights, particular outside dome eating, and even a just lately bought out drag present are simply among the issues they’ve used to set themselves aside. But whereas issues are going effectively, it hasn’t been with out challenges.
“The hardest part about operating Arbru is operating during the wintertime. As you can imagine, it’s pretty dark outside, the days are short, there’s less sun hours. The way we do it is we just manage power very, very effectively,” stated Audet.
With the brewery’s one-year anniversary on the horizon, Audet and Stephenson stated they’re prepared for the hotter climate.
“Now we’re gearing up for a new summer experience. Something, of course, that will be outdoors, or on the patio,” she stated.
