Large chemical spill in south London, Ont., no reported injuries – London | 24CA News

Multiple emergency responders had been on the scene at a business in south London after a big inside chemical spill Monday morning prompted a small street closure.

Fire officers say they acquired a name at round 8:30 a.m. for a chemical spill at Diversey, a producer of cleansing and hygiene merchandise for the hospitality and health-care industries. The substance spilled was Pascal, which is described on the corporate’s web site as a “low foaming, heavy duty, non-fuming, nitric acid-based descaler for use in a wide range of cleaning-in-place (CIP) applications in the food and beverage industry.”

Shewell stated all security mechanisms in place labored successfully to maintain the spill contained contained in the constructing, and aside from a slight off-gassing early within the course of, no chemical substances escaped the power premises.
