Halifax man charged with 2nd-degree murder in death of N.B. inmate | 24CA News
A person from Halifax has been charged with second-degree homicide after an inmate was killed at a jail in New Brunswick final fall.
Correctional Service Canada mentioned in October 2022 that Richard King died whereas in custody on the Atlantic Institution in Renous, N.B., following a “serious assault.”
King, 49, had been serving an indeterminate sentence since June 2007 for second-degree homicide.
In a launch Thursday, the New Brunswick RCMP mentioned officers responded to the ability on Oct. 6 round 5:20 p.m. There, they discovered King badly injured in his cell. He was transported to hospital, the place he later died.
A 31-year-old was arrested that very same day, the RCMP mentioned.
Christian Enang Clyke was charged with homicide on Monday. He stays in custody and is scheduled to seem in courtroom on May 25.
Clyke had been beforehand convicted of second-degree homicide within the loss of life of Angela Hall, who was discovered shot within the hallway of a constructing on Primrose Street in Dartmouth on April 29, 2011.
