Five residents have been displaced following a fireplace at a two-storey dwelling within the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue in Winnipeg on Saturday night.
At 7:15 p.m. firefighters went to the house and noticed smoke and flames. They attacked the hearth from the within and it was declared beneath management by 8:10 p.m.
No accidents have been reported because of the hearth however a cat and canine have been discovered useless and the City of Winnipeg Animal Services went to the scene to help.
