Cat rescued from storm drain at UBC Okanagan  | 24CA News

A younger cat was rescued from a storm drain at UBC Okanagan on Saturday afternoon.

Kathy Manuel, safety communications coordinator for UBCO, advised Global News, she obtained stories from college students saying they have been listening to meows coming from a storm drain on campus.

Manuel dispatched safety to the world and confirmed a cat was caught inside.

“We have feral cats around, so we weren’t sure how many were in there at first,” mentioned Manuel.

The Kelowna Fire Department and town’s animals management providers have been all known as to the scene.

“It was very deep, where the cat was. It was a confined space, making it difficult to rescue,” mentioned Manuel.
