Bear paw — not human hand — confirmed as grisly Lethbridge landfill discovery | 24CA News
It was a uncommon discovery that had some folks fearing the worst.
But officers now verify it was a bear’s paw, not a human hand, that was found on the Lethbridge landfill on May 16.
RCMP have been referred to as to the location shortly earlier than 10 a.m. after an worker reported the invention.
The landfill space of the Lethbridge Waste and Recycling Centre was closed for a number of hours as members of the RCMP forensic unit investigated and seized what they believed to be a bear’s paw.
It was despatched to the medical expert in Calgary, who later confirmed the RCMP’s perception.
Global News has reached out to Alberta Fish and Wildlife to ask whether or not an investigation is underway into how and why the bear’s paw ended up within the landfill.
