2 with life-threatening injuries after crash on Halifax’s MacKay Bridge – Halifax | 24CA News
Two folks had been despatched to hospital with life-threatening accidents after a multiple-vehicle crash on the MacKay Bridge early Tuesday morning.
Halifax Regional Police mentioned shortly after 6 a.m. that the bridge was closed as police had been on scene of the crash. The bridge was reopened at about 9:45 a.m.
HRP spokesperson Const. John MacLeod mentioned police consider three automobiles had been concerned within the crash.
The closure of the MacKay, which connects Halifax to Dartmouth, triggered visitors chaos on either side of the bridge.
“Avoid the area and use alternate routes this morning,” Halifax Regional Police mentioned in an earlier launch. “Motorists should expect delays in their morning commute and are asked to drive with caution.”
In an earlier tweet, Halifax Transit mentioned buses had been operating as much as 52 minutes late because of the MacKay Bridge closure, in addition to “multiple motor vehicle collisions throughout the city.”
